Healing (part one)

Jeremiah 33:6 "Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth."

Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."

James 5:14 "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord"

Matthew 10:1 "And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease."

James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

These are just a few verses about healing but they speak so loud. Part one of this subject, healing, is going to be about how we should accept the gift that God has given us.

In Matthew 25:14-30, there are three servants to which their lord gave gifts. Servant one received five talents, servant two received two talents, and servant three received one talent.

Servant one went out, traded, and turned his five talents into ten. He had doubled what God had given Him!

Servant two, who received two talents, went out and doubled his talents as well.

Servant three had buried the only talent that he received out of fear of loosing it.

When their lord had figured out what they all had done, he praised the first two for doubling the talents that he had given them but was angered at the third for doing nothing with his. In fact, he had taken it away from him!

Any talent is a gift and a gift is meant to be used and cherished. The gifts that God gives us cost a very big price. Jesus was crucified and murdered for us to have the gifts that we do. It would be a shame if we didn't not open that wonderful gift that God gave us.

Healing is also a gift from God. He gives us healing so that we can be made new. It would be wrong to not accept it.

Sometimes the devil will try to convince us that we are not worthy enough to receive that healing or that there are more important things than our own healing and we should feel guilty or selfish for asking for healing but those are lies! If anything, it would be wrong to not accept it.
